VK Blanka isn’t playing it safe – and neither is this collaboration. Teaming up with Novel Core, “Beast ≠ Knight” arrives like a late-night pulse, sharp-edged and unpredictable, pulling listeners into a world where instinct and control collide.

Written as the opening theme for TV Asahi’s April 2026 Friday night drama “Cheated in My Last Three Months” (余命3ヶ月のサレ夫), the track leans into the tension of its storyline. Anchored by a dark Latin-inspired sound, “Beast ≠ Knight (feat. Novel Core)” unfolds through a gripping back-and-forth between the two artists, building a sense of unease and allure that mirrors the drama’s emotional stakes.
Speaking on the collaboration, VK Blanka shares: “I made a dark Latin-style track. Core and I had always talked about doing something together someday, so I’m really happy it finally happened. It was also fun creating the back-and-forth sections by improvising lyrics during the recording! Be sure to check out the intense music video as well.”
Novel Core also commented, delivering his message in Latin in line with the track’s tone:
Iam pridem, ex quo VK cognovi, multum temporis praeteriit; hoc tamen decimo anno celebrando,
ex animo gaudeo quod una laborare potuimus.
Cum de genere carminis deliberaremus, dixit: “Est aliquid bonum quod audire debes,” et ex illo demo, ad quod improvisa nostra collocutio accessit, vera quasi reactio chemica orta est, unde carmen maxime excitans natum esse puto.
Et carmen et opus visuale exspectate! Magnum tibi honorem habeo, VK Blanka!
Translation:
“It has been a long time since I first came to know VK; yet as we celebrate this tenth year, I am truly glad we were able to work together. When we were discussing the direction of the song, he said, ‘There’s something good you need to hear,’ and from that demo – combined with our improvised exchange – it felt like a real chemical reaction took place, resulting in what I believe is an incredibly exciting track. Please look forward to both the song and its visual work. I hold you in great respect, VK Blanka!”
As VK Blanka approaches his 10th anniversary in 2026, “Beast ≠ Knight” lands as more than just a collaboration – it’s a statement. A clash of styles, instincts, and perspectives, sharpened into a track that refuses to sit still. If this is the opening move, the next chapter is already in motion.
